Hurricane Pamela made landfall near the city of San Ignacio in the Mexican state of Sinaloa at 07:00 local time on Pacific coast. According to the Mexican Civil Defense Coordination, the states of Sinaloa and Durango will be most affected by the category 1 hurricane.

The authorities stated that the rainfall caused by the hurricane may cause landslides, overflow of rivers and flooding in low-lying areas. The citizens were called for to take strict precautions and follow the recommendations of the civil defense teams. After Sinaloa, schools in some cities in the state of Baja California Sur were closed until further notice.

It is estimated that the hurricane is heading northeast at 22 kilometers per hour and will reach the US state of Texas on Thursday.
