The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Zircon hypersonic cruise missile launched from the Barents Sea successfully hit the target located about a thousand kilometers away in the White Sea. The Defense Ministry also shared the launched moments of the missile. “The launch of the missile is a part of the new weapon test,” Defense Ministry said.
On the other hand, Russian President Vladimir Putin was described the Zircon cruise missiles as part of a new generation of unrivaled weapon systems. Last year, Russia launched Zircon missiles from warships and submarines. Hypersonic weapons can move 9 times faster than the speed of sound.
