Icing caused 40 vehicles crashed into each other in U.S.

Icy asphalt caused a major chain accident in the Wisconsin state, US on Thursday. According to Wisconsin State Patrol, a semi-trailer lost control and hit 2 cars after freezing rain caused icy and hazardous road conditions along Interstate 94 (I-94) between Menomonie and Black River Falls this morning. While fire broke out after the accident, the vehicles coming from behind on the icy road were also involved in the accident. State Patrol stated that 40 vehicles have involved in the accident, and both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-94 are closed at exit 81 (Foster) and exit 115 (Black River Falls) while crews clear the scene. “Thankfully, there were no fatalities and all other reported injuries appear to be non-life-threatening. Several dozen vehicles were involved, including semi-tractor trailers,” State Patrol said in a post on their official social media account.
