Immigrants trapped at US border rescued by Mexico

A total of 5 Honduran illegal immigrants, 2 women and 3 children, were trapped under the bridge on Rio Grande River on the US-Mexico border, Mexico’s National Institute of Migration stated. The immigrants were trying to cross the river in order to reach the US, where they were rescued by boats. They were given medical aid, and reportedly in good health.

In February, an 8-year-old Honduran boy drowned in the Rio Grande River, which is frequently used by illegal immigrants who want to cross from Mexico to the USA.
