An Islamabad anti-terrorism court on Thursday granted former prime minister Imran Khan interim bail in a case registered against him for his controversial remarks about a female judge during a rally in the capital last week. Judge Raja Jawad Abbas Hassan granted the bail till September 1 against a surety of 100,000 Pakistani rupees.
The PTI chair had staged a rally in the federal capital on August 20 to express solidarity with his chief of staff Shahbaz Gill after claims of torture in custody. He warned the additional sessions judge, who placed Gill in physical remand at the request of the police, to brace herself for the consequences.
