In Istanbul, cross removed from the sea for the Orthodox Epiphany Day

In the Bakırköy district of Istanbul, Türkiye, held a Christian ritual to celebrate Orthodox Epiphany Day at Yeşilköy Agios Stefanos Church. After the ritual was officiated by the Metropolitan Chief Episkop Apostolos of Derkon Region, the ceremony of removing the cross from the sea was held on Yeşilköy’s shore.

The four competitors were put on the boat accompanied by the police, and they fought hard to remove the cross thrown into the sea. Garen Dabanyan, who said that he attended the ceremony for the first time, took the first place by bringing the cross to the shore.
