Increase in Plankton Population Turns Iznik Lake Into Turquoise

The increase in plankton population due to the increase in temperature has turned Iznik Lake in Bursa into turquoise. The sea, where the submerged historical basilica became even more visible, resembled the beaches of the Maldives.

The discovery of the 2,000-year-old basilica in 2014 is among the 10 most important discoveries in the world.
