India Assam floods claim 30 lives

The number of people who lost their lives in floods and landslides caused by heavy rains in the Indian state of Assam rose to 30. Authorities announced that more than half a million people were affected by the ongoing floods in the state, and the loss of life rose to 30 after the bodies of 2 more people were found in the last 24 hours.

Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) announced that there was no reduction in the flooding and that the flood hit 12 regions. Authorities reported that 956 villages were flooded and at least 40 thousand hectares of cultivated land were damaged in the flood-affected areas.
