A massive eruption at Indonesia’s Semeru volcano in East Java killed 14 people and wounded 98. The teams rescued ten people who were stuck and evacuated 902 others, the Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management stated. The eruption destroyed a bridge connecting the Lumajang district to Malang city, as well as surrounding buildings. There was no airline disruption, but pilots were issued a warning about volcanic ash fall, the Indonesian Ministry of Transport said.
