An eruption occurred at the Ibu Volcano, at an altitude of 1,325 meters, in Indonesia’s North Maluku province, spewing ash and smoke to a height of 5 kilometers for 5 minutes. Public were advised to not to get closer to the volcano’s crater than 5 kilometers as new eruptions will possibly occur.
Authorities raised the alarm level issued for the volcano from 2 to 3 after an eruption last Friday.
