Inflation and cost of living protested in Belgium

Workers complaining about rising energy prices and inflation in Belgium gathered in front of the Royal Park Theatre in Brussels. More than 10,000 people attended the protest, which was held after a joint call by the country’s leading Socialist, Liberal and Green unions. The purchasing power has fallen rapidly in recent months, prompting the unions to call for the government to take action. The government announced a series of measures last week and included support for an average monthly energy bill of 200 euros per family.

Union representatives called on the workers to hold a general strike on November 9 to make their voices heard, saying that they could overcome the problem together.
