Ingot Ruins of Rome extracted from Soli Pompeipolis Ancient Harbour in Turkey

Ruins belonging to Rome revealed during the excavation in the ancient harbor of Soli Pompeiopolis Ancient City. The 20 days long excavation work carried by the site director Prof Dr. Remzi Yağcı from Dokuz Eylül University revealed ingot ruins within the 70 meters wide area.

“We extracted important findings here. The Rome ingots. These are crowbars shaped as a big nail with a hogging in the middle. They were used in either iron tool making or industrial design. It is an important discovery because Soli Pompeipolis Ancient Harbor, the biggest harbor Of Western Mediterranean, carries monumental importance.” said Prof Dr. Remzi Yağcı.
