With the new security law enacted by the US state of Texas government last June, the installation of the floating barrier on the Mexican border on the Rio Grande River has begun. Aiming to prevent drug and weapons smugglers and immigrants from crossing the Mexican border, the bill also includes other measures, such as expanding the powers to search and arrest suspects at the border, and allowance to use UAVs.
