The case in which famous American actor Alec Baldwin was tried on charges of “involuntary manslaughter” for the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, whom he accidentally shot during the shooting of the movie Rust in 2021, was dropped. It was stated that Baldwin could not be accused again in the future.
The incident occurred as Baldwin was given the gun by co-director Dave Halls, who said the gun was “safe”. However, the gun was loaded with real bullets and was not checked by Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the set’s weapons officer who was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
