Iran commemorates the anniversary of the assassination of Qasem Soleimani

The 3rd anniversary of the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the former Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, was commemorated by hundreds people with a ceremony which held at the Imam Khomeini Mosalla Mosque in Tehran, the capital of Iran. Soleimani was assassinated on January 3, 2020, at Baghdad International Airport in Iraq, as a result of an airstrike by the United States.

Several Iranian high-ranking officials attended the commemoration ceremony, such as Iranian President Ayatollah Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, Head of the IRGC Hossein Salami, IRGC Force Commander General Esmail Qaani, who was appointed to replace Soleimani, and Zeynep Soleimani, daughter of Qassem Soleimani.

“We have not forgotten and will not forget martyr Soleimani, and let them know that revenge for the blood of martyr Soleimani is certain,” Raisi said in his speech at the ceremony.
