Iran launched the Saman 1 orbital transfer vehicle and two research payloads into space using the Simurgh satellite carrier. The 300-kilogram Saman 1, designed to move satellites between orbits and increase orbital altitude, was successfully placed into orbit from the Imam Khomeini Space Base in Simnan Province.
The liquid-fueled Simurgh satellite carrier, developed by Iran’s Ministry of Defense, marked a milestone in the country’s satellite-carrying capacity, achieving its first successful orbital transfer mission.
