Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran “will not bow to the excessive demands of the West” while addressing crowds in Tehran during the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution. Speaking at Azadi Square in Tehran, he insisted Iran is not seeking nuclear weapons and is open to inspections, but accused the US and Europe of deepening distrust.
Pezeshkian apologized for recent domestic unrest, saying, “As President, I apologize to the Iranian nation for all shortcomings.” He also thanked regional countries, including Türkiye, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, for supporting diplomatic solutions and stressed that regional problems must be resolved by regional actors.
