Iran Rejects U.S. Call to End Nuclear Program

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi dismissed U.S. demands to halt Iran’s nuclear activities, saying uranium enrichment is a “legitimate and non-negotiable right.” Responding to U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff’s call to first limit and eventually end the program, Arakchi stressed Iran is open to confidence-building steps but won’t compromise on enrichment.

He also criticized the U.S. for sending mixed signals and emphasized that Tehran will judge Washington’s intentions at the negotiation table. Arakchi added he will deliver a letter from Supreme Leader Khamenei to Russian President Putin during his upcoming Moscow visit.
