Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and 60-year-old Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who died in a helicopter crash, were laid to rest in the Shah Abdulazim Tomb in Rey.
A funeral ceremony for Abdollahian was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran, attended by former Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, former Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, and other high-ranking officials. Abdollahian’s body was brought to the ceremony with a military band before being transported to the Shah Abdulazim Tomb. Thousands of Iranians attended the burial ceremony, where Abdullahiyan was interred following funeral prayers.
