Iranian President Considers Firing FM Over US Talks

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is reportedly threatening to dismiss Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi due to deepening internal divisions over ongoing negotiations with the United States. According to the opposition outlet Iran International, Pezeshkian and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf accuse Araghchi of sidelining the civilian government during critical ceasefire talks. The leaders allege that the top diplomat is acting more as a proxy for Revolutionary Guard Commander Ahmad Vahidi than as a representative of the cabinet. Sources indicate that the president has privately warned he will fire Araghchi if this bypass of executive authority continues. This potential shakeup highlights a growing rift among Tehran’s senior officials as they struggle to unify their diplomatic strategy toward Washington.
