Iranian President Pezeshkian to Visit Pakistan Amid Peace Talks

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad tomorrow for a one-day visit, prompting heightened security and streets lined with Iranian flags. During his trip, Pezeshkian will meet with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir to discuss trade, bilateral relations, and the recent Lake Lucerne Summit in Switzerland. The visit closely follows the first round of U.S.-Iran negotiations in Bürgenstock, where mediators reported promising progress, including a clear 60-day roadmap for a final agreement. Acting as a key mediator, Prime Minister Sharif praised the constructive atmosphere of the dialogue and commended Major General Munir’s indispensable diplomatic contributions to the process. Sharif also expressed deep gratitude to Qatar for helping facilitate the negotiations and to the Swiss government for hosting the historic discussions.
