Iranian President Pezeshkian Visits Iraq

Masoud Pezeshkian, who was elected as the 14th President of Iran, went to Iraq for his first official overseas visit upon the invitation of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia Sudani. The Iranian leader, who was greeted with an official ceremony by Prime Minister Sudani at the Baghdad International Airport, headed to the Government Palace to discuss relations and cooperation between the two countries with his counterpart Abdullatif Rashidiki. During the meeting, Pezeshkian stated that expert commissions should be established between the two countries to deepen relations in political, economic, cultural, and social areas and that unity should be established between Islamic countries.

“The secret to eradicating Zionist terrorism is unity among Islamic countries. Strengthening unity will render sanctions ineffective and contribute to regional stability,” said the Iranian leader.
