According to the British news agency Reuters, citing two sources, Iranian religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was taken to a safe zone inside Iran after Israel confirmed the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah after their attacks on a Hezbollah headquarters in Lebanon yesterday. The English agency’s report also included that Iran is in constant contact with Hezbollah and other resistance groups and is trying to determine the next step.
The Commission of National-Security and Foreign-Policy of Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly held an extraordinary meeting to address Israel’s aggression in the region, including the attacks in Beirut. According to Ebrahim Rezai, Spokesperson of the assembly, commission members strongly condemned the attacks and said that the US-backed attacks will not go unanswered. “The members of the commission expressed their sorrow for the silence of international organizations and states that claim to protect human rights, and called for a decisive, effective and instructive response against the Zionist regime,” said Rezai.
