Iran’s New President Seeks Better US Relations

Iran’s new President, Masoud Pezeshkian, called for an end to hostility with the US, urging goodwill and cooperation during his first press conference. He emphasized Iran’s commitment to peace and announced plans to address sanctions by resolving the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) issue. Pezeshkian also highlighted efforts to strengthen ties with neighboring countries, particularly Türkiye, expressing interest in joint investments and trade. Ahead of his visit to the UN General Assembly, Pezeshkian underscored the importance of diplomacy and regional partnerships.
