The first provincial elections since 2013 are being held in Iraq and the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Region. The special day of voting, in which security forces and displaced people in Iraq are voting, is almost over. Every other citizen will cast on Monday, and the results are planned to be announced on Tuesday.
Previously, Shiite Muqtada Sadr, the retired leader of the Sadr Movement, had called on his supporters to boycott the provincial elections, leading supporters in some regions to tear down election posters and destroy campaign offices.
