Followers of the Coordination Framerowk gathered near the suspension bridge in Baghdad and marched to the Green Zone. The crowded group broke through the first of the concrete barriers set up by the security forces in the Green Zone, where they came by chanting slogans against Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi. Security forces intervened with water cannons after protesters tried to cross the second barrier in the Green Zone. It was reported that there were injuries in the incidents.
Supporters of Iraqi Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr had stormed the Green Zone before.
