Israel Admits to Disturbing Gaza Cemetery in Search for Bodies

The Israeli army has admitted to excavating a cemetery near Nasser Hospital in the city of Khan Younis, Gaza Strip, under the pretext of searching for the bodies of deceased prisoners. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed that this mission, deemed one of its “most important duties” in Gaza, was conducted with respect for the deceased and in a secure environment. However, images from the cemetery reveal significant damage, raising concerns about potential violations of international law, as intentional attacks on cemeteries are generally considered war crimes.
