The 4-day humanitarian pause brokered by Qatar between Israel and Hamas took effect today. During this break, activity surged on Saladin Street, a dividing line between the north and south of the Gaza Strip. Residents who had fled from the north to the south amid the Israeli attacks attempted to return northwards. Carrying their belongings, including clothes and blankets, Gazans encountered Israeli soldiers blocking their path back to the north. Israeli forces prevented Palestinians from re-entering their homes, instructing them to return southward.
