The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Saturday that a large number of Palestinians had moved to the south of Gaza after Israel requested residents of the Gaza Strip to relocate from the north to the south. The IDF spokesman stated that it is very difficult to estimate, but approximately half a million people have moved to the south of Gaza.
The UN called for the decision to be canceled, stating that it was not possible to safely evacuate approximately 1.1 million people from the north to the south within 24 hours.
In another statement made later by Israel, it was mentioned that Hamas had prevented Palestinians from moving to the southern part of the Gaza Strip
