Israel Withdraws from Gaza’s Shifa Hospital

Israel has announced its withdrawal from Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip, marking the end of a siege that began on March 18. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the completion of their operation, stating that all soldiers have left the area. During the siege, 900 Palestinians were detained, and at least 200 people were killed.

The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that 21 patients died during the siege, highlighting the dire conditions faced by patients and medical staff. The hospital suffered extensive damage, rendering medical devices unusable and impeding patient care and burials. Approximately 107 patients, including 4 children, remained trapped in the hospital building during the siege.
