Israeli first-ever presidential state visit to UAE

On the request of UAE Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Israeli President Isaac Herzog arrived in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, for the first state visit at the Presidential level. Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister, greeted Herzog and his wife Michal Herzog at Abu Dhabi International Airport. As part of his two-day official visit to the UAE, Herzog will go to Dubai after meeting with officials in Abu Dhabi.

The United Arab Emirates and Israel signed an agreement to normalize relations on September 15, 2020, with a ceremony at the White House. As part of the normalization process, Israel and the UAE opened their embassies in Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi last year. Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett also visited the UAE in December 2021.
