Israeli fighter jets carried out airstrikes around the Syrian capital, Damascus. Noting that most of the missiles were repelled by Syrian air defense systems, officials said that only material damage was caused in the attack. Regime forces and Iranian militias in the west of Damascus were targeted in the attack.
