Israeli Police Brutally Beat Ultra-Orthodox Protesters

In West Jerusalem, Israeli police clashed with Ultra-Orthodox Jewish (Haredi) protesters opposing the Supreme Court’s decision to end the military service exemption for Haredi men. Demonstrators blocked roads, chanted slogans like “We will die, we will not go to the military” and “We will go to prison, not the army,” and attempted to enter a military recruitment office.

Police responded with water cannons, batons, and mounted officers to disperse the crowd. Some protesters were reportedly detained during the confrontation. The decision to end the exemption has sparked significant unrest among the Haredi community.
