At least 22 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on civilian homes in the Shuja’iyah neighborhood of Gaza City. Gaza Civil Defense warned the toll may rise as rescue teams search for survivors. Spokesperson Mahmoud Basal called the strike a “complete violation of human rights,” noting eight adjacent homes were hit.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, 36 people were killed and 41 injured across Gaza in the past 24 hours. Since Israel ended the ceasefire on March 18, 1,482 people have died. The total death toll since October 7, 2023, has reached 50,846, with over 115,000 injured.
