Israel’s mine cleaning unearths ammunition from six-day war

Israel announced today that it has found a large arsenal of ammunition left over from the 1967 Six-Day War in the Golan Heights in southwestern Syria, at the northeastern tip of Israel. “Due to the fact that thousands of mines from the Six-Day War period have been scattered on the hills in the region, efforts have been started for mine clearance. On the occasion of the mine clearing works, mortar shells from different countries, firearms, explosives, bullets in large quantities including a shelter were discovered” The Israeli Ministry of Defense said.
