Istanbul’s Dams Face Critical Water Shortage

Istanbul is facing a prolonged dry period, the water levels in dams are decreasing significantly. The occupancy rate of these dams has now fallen to 25.28 percent due to the ongoing decline in water levels. This decline affects dams that supply water to Istanbul, resulting in a 5 percent reduction. The lack of rain and high temperatures have exacerbated the water scarcity issue in the city, drawing international attention to the question of whether there will be water shortages in the near future.
