A quick-thinking group of military academy students and personnel heroically rescued a driver whose car plunged into the sea off a pier in northeastern Italy. The visiting cadets jumped into the water, managing to pull the 41-year-old man from the sinking vehicle just before it settled at a depth of seven meters. While the driver escaped serious harm, one rescuer required hospital treatment for injuries sustained during the daring operation. Praising their bravery, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated the students “acted without hesitation,” calling the rescue “one of the best examples of service, responsibility, and a sense of duty.” Echoing this sentiment, Defense Minister Guideo Crosetto noted that their willingness to put their own lives on the line “has made the entire defense organization proud.”
