Italy bids farewell to Former Italian PM Berlusconi

A state ceremony was held today for the former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, who was diagnosed with leukemia at the hospital where he was taken on April 5 due to a lung infection and passed away on June 12. The funeral, held at the Duomo Cathedral in Milan, was attended by nearly two thousand people who applauded the arrival of Berlusconi’s body in the funeral vehicle. After the ceremony, his body will be taken to Villa San Martino for cremation. Berlusconi’s ashes will be buried in a mausoleum on the grounds of his villa in the northern Italian town of Arcore.

The funeral was attended by numerous Italian and foreign politicians, as well as notable figures from the media and football worlds.
