Italy grappled with an exceptional surge in extreme weather occurrences, tallying 378 events throughout the year, as reported by the environmental group Legambiente. These incidents, comprising heatwaves, droughts, hailstorms, floods, and fierce winds, contributed to 31 fatalities.
