Italy Forest Fire damages lands, disrupts road traffic

The forest fires that broke out on Monday in the Massarosa hills of Lucca in the Tuscany region of Italy still could not be brought under control. More than 100 people were evacuated from their homes in Massarosa. Approximately 400 hectares of land were damaged, and that the extinguishing efforts continue in the area with 5 planes and 5 helicopters, a local official said.

Some sections of a highway that connects the northeast and northwest of the country, were also closed to traffic due to a fire in the forest area between Trieste and Gorizia.
