Italy’s Milan Prosecutor’s Office has requested access to testimony given in The Hague by American firefighter John Jordan as part of an investigation into foreigners who allegedly joined “sporting manhunts” during the siege of Sarajevo in the Bosnian War. The probe focuses on suspected involvement of Italian citizens in sniper attacks on civilians.
Jordan told the tribunal he had seen armed foreigners guided by locals and using hunting-style rifles not suited for urban combat. He said attackers often targeted children or young women, describing them as “amateurs but dangerous.” The case has renewed attention on wartime “sniper tours” organized by Serbian forces for wealthy foreigners during the conflict.
