Authorities announced that after the increase in Covid-19 cases in Italy, half of the country is at Moderate Covid-19 risk. It was stated that the northern regions of Lombardy and Piedmont in Italy, Lazio in central Italy and Sicily in the south turned yellow during the day. Liguria, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto, Marche and Calabria, which are described as yellower regions of these regions, together with the autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano, increased the total number of yellow regions across the country to 11.
It is mandatory to wear mask in the open air and in public areas such as cinemas and theaters in the yellow-colored regions of the country. The restrictions are loosened on the grounds that the white color is dominant in the remaining 10 regions of the country and does not pose a risk of contamination.
