In the heart of Tokyo, Muslims gathered for the traditional iftar program at Tokyo Mosque and Diyanet Turkish Cultural Center, bringing the spirit of Ramadan to Japan. The daily iftar event, attended by hundreds of Muslims from Tokyo and its surroundings, gained significant attention from Japanese citizens curious about Islam.
Muhammed Raşit Alas, President of Tokyo Mosque and Diyanet Turkish Cultural Center, highlighted the success of the longstanding iftar tradition, with 400-500 attendees on weekdays and 600-700 on weekends. Alas noted the diverse participation, emphasizing that one-third of the attendees are non-Muslim Japanese citizens eager to experience the Ramadan excitement and iftar rituals.
