A workshop established in Japan 114 years ago continues to produce traditional footwear named Tabi today. The traditional footwear had been worn by many cultural figures such as samurais, ninjas, and sumo wrestlers for 600 years in Japan. Today, the company Isami Corp. mainly produces them for daily use and cultural activities. The team of experienced workers make the footwear by hand using traditional methods. Company CEO Takahiro Tsuchiya said that this 600-year-old culture still exist today thanks to its comfort.
