Kallas: Key Week Ahead for Ukraine Diplomacy

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said this week “could be vital for diplomacy” in efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine War. Speaking before an EU defense meeting in Brussels, she urged stronger support for Ukraine, saying Russia “doesn’t want peace.”

Kallas described US talks as “difficult but productive” and noted Ukraine was “alone” in those discussions. She called for tougher sanctions, a reparation loan targeting Russia, and continued military and financial aid.

Kallas warned that countries previously occupied by Russia remain at risk as long as Moscow maintains a large military.
