Kazakhstan Confirms 785 Million Tons of Oil Reserves

Kazakhstan’s proven oil reserves currently stand at 785 million tons, ensuring decades of stable energy production for the nation. Ashat Hasenov, Chairman of Kazmunaygaz, explained that while these reserves will last approximately 45 years at current extraction rates, “the resource base is constantly being replenished” through ongoing geological exploration. Supporting this steady output, Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenjenov confirmed the country is on track to produce 96 million tons of oil this year, with next year’s target set at roughly 99 million tons. To facilitate these continued exports, Akkenjenov announced that Kazakhstan has officially requested Russia to resume shipments through the Druzhba oil pipeline, which were suspended in May following drone attacks.
