Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned the U.S. against any hostile actions, stating, “They will receive a severe slap if they commit treason against Iran.”
Speaking in Tehran for the Nevruz holiday, Khamenei criticized U.S. and European claims that regional resistance groups act as Iran’s proxies, insisting they operate independently. He reaffirmed Iran’s continued support for Palestinian and Lebanese resistance groups, condemning Israeli attacks.
His remarks follow U.S. calls for Iran to stop arming the Houthis, with Washington stating the group should “fight on their own.”
