Following a massive farewell in Tehran, the bodies of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and four of his family members have arrived in the holy city of Qom. Hundreds of thousands of mourners gathered at the Jamkaran Mosque, where a major funeral prayer was led by Imam Jafar Amuli before the procession began moving through the crowded city streets. The multi-day mourning proceedings follow their deaths in a joint US-Israeli attack on February 28. Khamenei’s body is scheduled to be transported to the Iraqi cities of Najaf and Karbala tomorrow, ahead of his final burial at the Imam Reza Shrine in Mashhad on Thursday.
