King Felipe and PM Sanchez Face Protests in Flood-Hit Spain

During a visit to Spain’s flood-stricken Valencia region, King Felipe and Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez encountered public backlash, with locals protesting delayed relief efforts. In Paiporta, demonstrators threw mud at King Felipe while chanting “Murderers,” prompting his guards to shield him with umbrellas. Prime Minister Sanchez’s vehicle was also attacked as he departed the area. Locals criticized the government for insufficient flood prevention and delayed response, while the central government noted that flood warnings were the responsibility of regional authorities.
