An unidentified knife-wielding man attacked people waiting for a bus at the stop outside the JR Nagano Train Station in Nagano, Japan, at around 20:00 local time yesterday, injuring 3 people, one of whom died at the hospital.
The police have launched a detailed investigation into the incident and an operation to catch the attacker who fled the scene.
According to eyewitnesses, the attacker was in his 40s, wearing a white bandana and glasses and of medium height.
